Come, Sit, Play: Activity Classes

At Pasadena Humane Society, we love extracurricular activities for people and pets! It is the perfect way to continue to build the obedience your dog has already mastered while burning off some extra energy. All of our activity classes are reward based, have plenty of play time for dog and owners alike, and a great way to have fun while improving your dog's obedience, focus, and confidence.

Activity Class Descriptions:

Stop, Drop, & Roll: Tricks!

Pre-requisite: Basic Obedience, cannot be dog-aroused. This series of activity classes is designed to help you communicate with your canine companion and teach them some fun and useful tricks in the process. We will continue to help you solidify the skills you learned in Basic Obedience and introduce fun and advanced tricks which include shake, roll over, take a bow, crawl, and "wipe your feet" to name a few.

Fun & Games: Introduction to Agility

Pre-requisite: Basic Obedience, cannot exhibit aggressiveness or excessive shyness. Agility is an active dog sport that involves negotiating an obstacle course against the clock! It’s a great way to have fun while improving your dog's obedience, focus, and confidence. This class is an entertaining introduction to agility in a pressure-free and non-competitive environment. Along the way, you and your dog will increase your capability to communicate and learn valuable skills that will help you both on and off the course. So bring your sense of humor, a pocket full of treats, and come join our Fun & Games Agility class.

Fun & Games: Agility II

Pre-requisite: Previously completed Fun & Games Introduction to Agility or have prior instructor approval, cannot exhibit aggressiveness or excessive shyness. Did you or your dog fall in love with the fun sport of agility and feel its time to take your skills to the next level? This off-leash course will refine the skills, accuracy, and speed already gained in the introductory class while focusing on proper extension, bouncing, and spacing. Bring your sense of humor, a pocket full of treats, and come join our Fun & Games Agility class.

Agility Playtime — Drop-in Class

Pre-requisite: Must be at least enrolled or previously participated in Fun & Games: Introduction to Agility. This is a Drop-In class; cost is $5.00 for currently enrolled students and $10.00 for alumni. No registration is required. Call for details. This drop-in class allows agility students to practice on equipment, burn out excessive energy, and socialize at the same time. Instructors are always available to troubleshoot areas of weakness and improve skills on course.

Puppy Jr. High — Drop-in Class

Pre-requisite: Puppy Kindergarten. For puppies ages 5- 10 months. This is a Drop-In class; cost is $15.00 for currently enrolled students and $20.00 for alumni. No registration is required. Call for details. This drop-in class is structured for both training and play. Classes will include "puppy playtime" to promote proper socialization and fun games that emphasize obedience commands previously learned in puppy kindergarten and basic obedience. Not ready for intermediate obedience and need to burn out some energy for proper focus? This class is just right.
