Seniors for Seniors

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA has a wonderful program for people and pets who have reached the best years of their lives! It’s called “Seniors for Seniors,” and it enables people age 60 and up to adopt pets age 5 and up, thanks to the generous support of the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. The mandatory microchip fee of $20 still applies, but the adoption is at no cost to you!

Of course, most pets at age 5 (like most humans at age 60!) are hardly over the hill; on the contrary, they’re just hitting their stride, and the Seniors for Seniors program—besides offering financial assistance to our more experienced adopters—gives an extra boost to the terrific middle-aged cats and dogs, who are sometimes overlooked by shelter visitors.
